about ANA
With a rapidly growing population and more than 60% of its population employed directly or indirectly in the agricultural sector, Africa has a massive social and economic footprint.
Smallholder farmers are the backbone of food production across Africa, and about 23 percent of sub-Saharan Africa’s GDP comes from agriculture. Yet, current innovations geared at improving food systems across Africa are shadowed as most agricultural news from the continent is focused on its huge infrastructural deficits.
Agri News Africa aims to correct this imbalance by analyzing data, telling successful stories and opportunities aimed at improving food systems to ensure that Africa is able to feed itself and become a net food processor and exporter.
Realizing Africa’s full agricultural potential will require significant financial investment and consumers are now more than ever interested in knowing where their food comes from, the people involved in the production and production methods.
